Predation

This is an image of an American Robin (Turdus migratorius) eating an earthworm (Lumbricus terrestris) at 8 Sawmill Drive, Westborough, MA.

It is a little difficult to see, but the American Robin quickly snatched the earthworm from the grass and then flew away with the prey, hanging out of its mouth to devour it in a different location. (In the image, the worm is what appears to be a line below the upper wing.)
