Two morphologically distinct life stages of the same organism

This is a tomato hornworm we found outside of our house in Vermont.

This is a tomato hornworm in its chrysalis form.

This is the fully grow tomato hornworm now called a five-spotted hawk moth (Manduca quinquemaculata)

  3. I have a picture of the adult form as well and will post it soon. My mom is a second grade teacher so she brought it into her classroom last year and the kids watched its change.
