Different Types of Carbohydrates





Starch- Corn, Zea mays, is high in starch, which is made up of amylose and amylopectin. This picture was taken at 2 Butterfield Drive, Westborough, MA.




Fructose- Honey is high in fructose, and it is produced by honey bees, Apis mellifera. This honey was produced in Lexington, MA. This picture was taken at 2 Butterfield Drive, Westborough, MA.



Glucose- Blueberries, or Vaccinium corymbosum, are high in glucose(and fructose). This blueberry jam is produced in Maine, but blueberries are indigenous to Massachusetts, as well as Maine. This picture was taken at 2 Butterfield Drive, Westborough, MA.



Lactose- Milk is high in the carbohydrate lactose. This milk is produced by a cow, Bos taurus.

Sucrose- Grapes, Vitis vinifera, are high in sucrose. These grapes are either from Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, MA, or a winery in Shrewsbury, MA(I can't remember which).The picture was taken at 2 Butterfield Drive, Westborough, MA.
