John Maynard Smith was a theoretical evolutionary biologist. Originally, Smith worked with aircraft designs in factories during time of war. He then decided to study biology and became an influential biologist. He received many honors such as being elected as Fellow of the Royal Society. He focused mainly on animal behavior and did some study of bird flight using his knowledge of engineering. Smith also developed the Game theory and how it affects animals and published his ideas in articles and books.
