Endangered Species

Ailurus fulgens, commonly known as Red Pandas, are an endangered species. They are native to Southwest Asia, and the eastern Himalayas. This picture was taken at Whipsnade Park, in the UK.

This is a Lemur catta, otherwise known as a ring tailed lemur. This picture was taken at Whipsnade Park in England. In the wild they live in Madagascar, and tend to stay in groups.

  1. I was a "lemur-sitter" for a few days in FL when a friend allowed me to bring his lemur to school to show the students there...

  2. They are such gorgeous animals! At this zoo that we went to, there were too many to count and they came so close to everyone there!

  3. Interestingly (at least to me) when you spend some time with one you recognize how smart they are. They are primitive primates and a distant cousin to humans.
