Redox Reaction

As Jamie has pointed out in a previous post, fireworks are an example of redox reactions since both reductions and oxidations take place during each and every explosion. Some common oxidizers in fireworks are nitrates, chlorates, and perchlorates and common reducing agents include sulfur and carbon to produce the explosions in the sky that we view. This photo was taken at Magic Kingdom, 3111 World Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL.
